6 noticeable events from this summer of Venus retrograde in Leo.
Updated: Aug 27

In this article, we will discuss some of the major significations of Venus retrograde in the fiery sign of Leo.
This summer has been flaming in more ways than one. As Venus went retrograde in Leo, breakups, lover's quarrels, and revisiting old casual flings seem to be the norm. It's also a time to reevaluate spending habits and indulgences as Venus governs our finances and material desires. So, brace yourself for a season of heated introspection. Let's delve into the six ways Venus retrograde in Leo is revealing itself this summer.
Since Leo rules celebrity and spotlight, let's look at 6 ways Venus retrograde has shown up...quite literally in the spotlight of Leo!
6 summer hints that Venus is retrograde in Leo:
Lizzo's harassment lawsuit
Tory Lane's conviction
Women vs. Trans-women
Ozempic's lawsuit
Beyonce's Renaissance Tour
Hip-Hop turns 50
1. Lizzo's Venus retrograde: A harassment lawsuit.
On August 1st, Lizzo's Taurus Sun was squared by the full moon in Aquarius. Several former employees of America's It GIRL for body positivity and self-confidence have made scathing accusations against her. Lizzo exudes the star power of Leo with her larger-than-life personality. Venus also rules her Sun sign of Taurus. While Venus, the planet of "values and valuables" went retrograde, Lizzo was accused of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, fat shaming, and emotional abuse. The sign of Leo rules Lizzo's 12th house, a house of hidden enemies and self-undoing. In other words, Lizzo is being accused of being a phony. Her hidden enemies, finances, and friendship are all being activated by this Venus retrograde. Venus is also associated with sexuality and flirtatiousness, so this lawsuit is in line with this retrograde energy. Lastly, Lizzo is rumored to have broken up with her boyfriend Myke Wright, another Venus retrograde signature. We wish the former employees and Lizzo all the best and we hope the matter will be resolved soon!
2. Finally, a Tory Lanes conviction
Tory Lanez has been convicted to ten years in prison for assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, and negligent discharge of a gun. This Tory Lanez conviction is also a story of Venus retrograde in Leo. Here you have two celebrities who were friendly at some point. However, on the night of the fated incident, there was an argument between Megan and Tory regarding which had the biggest celebrity (Leo). There were some discussions of a love triangle between Megan, Tory, and Megan's ex-bff Kelsey. In the end, Megan was harmed, and we visited Tory's sentencing and all the drama that unfolded with it again during the retrograde. Venus retrograde is all about re-visiting old friendships and relationships and experiencing the Karma behind those relationships. We are so glad Megan got closure in this matter.
3.The Ozempic Lawsuit
Venus rules beauty, appearance, and attraction. During Venus' retrograde, we also observe lawsuits about the aforementioned topics. A medication called Ozempic is used to reduce insulin resistance and limit diabetes-related symptoms. Over the past couple of years, this medication has been used off-label to lose weight. It has been reported that many Ozempic users have lost weight and maintained it using this medication. In contrast, a lawsuit has been filed against Ozempic claiming that the medication causes nausea, vomiting, and stomach paralysis. The FDA approved Ozempic in December 2017 during the Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius. A Sagittarius Mercury retrograde may indicate that the medication had not been fully researched or has inflated or false benefits. During Venus retrograde, we are asked to examine some truths about the risks and benefits of this medication. This is to determine its safety and effectiveness. As Mercury retrogrades in Virgo, I expect to learn more about this case. A lawsuit against Ozempic demonstrates people's efforts to comply with beauty standards and sits fittingly in the season of Venus retrograde in Leo.
3. A conversation: Women vs. Trans-women
It is only natural when Venus retrogrades that there will be some discussion about the LGBT community. During Venus retrograde in Leo 2015, same-sex marriage was re-examined and made a federal law. During a previous Venus retrograde in Virgo of 1983, a gay couple appeared for the first time on a U.S. magazine cover (Astrology podcast, 2022). In general, Venus retrograde indicates that love and relationships may be expressed differently for people who have Venus retrograde in their natal chart.
With Venus in the spotlight, the topic of whether to refer to biological women as "cis gender" has sparked heated discussions online all while trans-women continue sharing their experiences of transphobia. Unfortunately, these conversations have turned into a bitter debate between women of both experiences, resulting in hurtful exchanges. However, there is hope for reconciliation as Queen T.S. Madison has pledged to stop using the term "cis" for biological women. As we move through this Venus retrograde period, it is crucial for women of all experiences to stand together and support each other. After all, we are each other's only allies.
Beyonce's Renaissance tour
The beauty of astrology lies in its reflection of the prevailing themes during planetary transits. This summer, we have the opportunity to attend numerous concerts, including Beyonce's Renaissance tour, which is projected to make an astounding 2 billion dollars. The tour highlights the range of ballroom gay culture, in line with the visible themes of LGBT culture during this Venus retrograde. Unsurprisingly, Beyonce, a Venus-ruled Libra rising with Venus on her ascendant, would tour during the retrograde. Venus themes have become even more prevalent in our lives as Venus approached a cazimi with the Sun on August 13th. This includes revisiting old relationships and friendships, more visibility of Venus-ruled people, and Venus-type themes. So, let's look forward to plenty of social events with a Renaissance soundtrack and an overall upbeat social scene.
Hip-Hop turns 50
Reflecting on the birth of hip-hop culture, we are reminded of its influence under the guidance of Venus, the ruler of the arts. This moment of retrograde offers a chance to recognize the genre's contributions to poetry over a beat. As hip-hop culture celebrates its 50th year, we must uplift female MCs' voices and acknowledge the influence of women in hip-hop. The new Netflix special, "Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop," inspires us to reflect on female MC's. Although hip-hop culture has a reputation for being a male-dominated and misogynistic industry, today's most innovative and groundbreaking artists are female and pushing the culture forward. As someone born in the 80s, I admire hip-hop and the significant impact it has had on black creativity, artists, stories, and experiences – from the dance to the style of dress we live and breathe hip-hop. Hip-hop being a Leo is so on-par, it's an art form that came out of the heart space, representing ego, passion, drive, self-confidence, drama, and creativity.
