Protecting bees is an important task that all of us should take seriously. These little insects play a crucial role in our ecosystem as they are responsible for pollinating our crops and flowers. As concerned citizens, we should all take steps to protect our bees. Here are some ideas that can help:

1. Plant bee-friendly flowers in your garden or on your balcony. Bees love flowers like lavender, sunflowers, and wildflowers.

2. Avoid using pesticides and herbicides in your garden. These chemicals can harm bees and other beneficial insects.

3. Support local beekeepers by buying honey from them. This helps to promote beekeeping and ensures that bees have enough food to survive.

4. Spread the word about the importance of bees and the threats they face. Educate your friends and family about the role  bees have in our ecosystem.

5. Provide a water source: Bees need water to survive, especially during the hot summer months. Placing a shallow dish of water in your garden can provide a water source for bees.

6. You can also place Bee Houses in a local park, like I did. You can see this project in Rotary Peace Park, Wellington FL next to Wellington Library.

7. Write to your local politicians and urge them to support bee-friendly policies. This could include measures to protect habitats, reduce pesticide use, and promote sustainable agriculture.

By taking these steps, we can all do our part to protect bees and ensure that they continue to thrive for generations to come
